Project

Commerce that stays yours

Agovena is an open-source commerce project by Milo Vandaele, built for merchants and developers who want control over their platform.

Why Agovena exists

Your commerce platform should fit the business you are building. That might be a focused shop with physical goods, a digital product business, a hosting service or an events offering. Combining those models should be possible, but it should not be a requirement for the platform to make sense.

Agovena brings that work into one self-hosted application. A shared commerce foundation handles the common concepts. Modules add optional business capabilities, Extensions connect providers, and Themes own presentation. Those boundaries keep a new integration from becoming a permanent dependency for every merchant.

Open source, with responsibility

The project is created and maintained by Milo Vandaele, with room for contributors to improve the code, documentation and ecosystem. Agovena is available under the MIT license. You can inspect it, adapt it and run it on infrastructure you control, subject to that license.

Self-hosting also means responsibility: operating the server, protecting customer data, testing backups and managing updates. Agovena is early-stage software. Evaluate the flows you need in a separate environment before using it for live commerce.

Make something useful together

Start with the installation guide, explore the package catalogue, or read the developer guides. Clear bug reports, focused fixes and better explanations all help.
