Stripe
Stripe Checkout with provider-discovered payment methods, signed webhooks, refunds and status reconciliation.
About this package
What it does
The Stripe extension is production-ready for the current Agovena contracts. It uses Stripe Checkout, discovers available Checkout methods, filters methods by billing country and processes signed webhooks idempotently. Agovena does not collect raw card details.
The extension supports test mode and live mode, full and partial refunds, status synchronization and supported off-session charges. A return URL never confirms a payment by itself.
Set up
Configure secret_key and webhook_secret in Admin > Extensions > Stripe. Use an sk_test_... key and matching whsec_... signing secret during development. Use a separate sk_live_... key and live webhook secret in production.
Webhook route:
POST https://shop.example.com/webhooks/payments/stripe
For local tests, use Stripe CLI:
npm install -g @stripe/cli
stripe login
stripe listen --forward-to http://127.0.0.1:8000/webhooks/payments/stripe
Store CLI secrets and API keys only in protected runtime configuration. Do not share them or commit them.
Failure handling
Stripe signatures are verified before parsing. Duplicate events are not applied twice. Unknown or uncertain provider outcomes remain pending or go through reconciliation. Payment methods are validated again server-side against the billing country.
