Server requirements

Check the runtime, operating system and services Agovena needs before you install it.

On this page

Agovena is a PHP application with MariaDB. A native installation needs PHP-FPM and one web server. Docker Compose provides a separate path when you want the web, database, worker and scheduler services managed as a stack.

Support

Supported environments

  • Ubuntu 22.04 or 24.04PHP 8.3 or 8.4
  • Debian 12PHP 8.3 or 8.4
  • CentOS Stream 9PHP 8.3 or 8.4
  • AlmaLinux 9PHP 8.3 or 8.4
  • Rocky Linux 9PHP 8.3 or 8.4
  • Fedora 40 or newerPHP 8.3 or 8.4
  • Docker ComposeDocker Engine and Compose plugin
  • WindowsNative installation

Use the installation guide for the setup sequence. This page only describes prerequisites and version checks.

Runtime checklist

Before installation, make sure the selected server has:

  • PHP CLI and PHP-FPM 8.3 or 8.4 with mbstring, intl, bcmath, ctype, json, tokenizer, xml, curl, zip and pdo_mysql.
  • Composer 2 and MariaDB 10.11 or MariaDB 11 for a native installation.
  • Docker Engine and the Compose plugin when you use Docker Compose.
  • Git, curl, tar and unzip for a source checkout or release handling.
  • Cron for schedule:run, plus a persistent worker managed by systemd or Supervisor.
  • Nginx or Apache as the single native web server. Choose one, not both.
  • A DNS name, an HTTPS certificate and persistent storage for the database, public media, private files, packages and logs.

Version checks

Run only the checks for the path you intend to install:

bash
php -v
composer --version
mariadb --version
docker compose version

The PHP CLI and PHP-FPM versions must match. A release archive includes vendor/ and public/build/, so Node.js and npm are not needed on the store server when you use that archive. A source checkout needs Node.js 22 or newer on the machine that builds the application.

Web server and storage requirements

Set the native web server document root to /var/www/agovena/public, never to the repository root. The application needs runtime write access to storage/ and bootstrap/cache/. Keep .env and storage/app/private outside the public document root.

Native deployments also need a MariaDB database, a queue worker and a scheduler. Docker Compose provides the database, worker and scheduler services in its stack. Read queue workers and scheduled tasks for the operational requirements after installation.
