Subscriptions

What it does

Sell recurring products with first-class subscription periods and renewal orders. The subscribable capability records the billing interval, interval count and optional trial days. Subscriptions owns the recurring commercial relationship owned by Core Recurring, not the external service or payment provider. 2

Requirements

Agovena Core ^0.0.1. The manifest declares no additional package dependency. Use the matching Core release and apply the Core capability migrations. 1

Set up the package

Core migrations are available automatically. Configure interval, interval_count and trial_days on the product capability and ensure renewal processing is scheduled. Choose a payment gateway separately. Automatic collection requires a reusable authorization supported by that gateway; a subscription record does not itself grant permission to charge a customer.

Operation and failure handling

Creation follows a paid order and locks the order item to avoid duplicate subscription creation. Due-period processing is designed to create at most one renewal order per period. Cancellation can be immediate or at period end; resuming is limited to an active subscription scheduled to cancel. Monitor renewal orders, overdue states and missing payment authorization. Provisioning can react to an ended subscription, but only if that Core capability and the relevant provider workflow are present. 2
